The Romanian business TV Money Channel, controlled by the Romanian businessman Sorin Ovidiu Vântu, might be operated, including financially, by a management firm owned by Romanian and foreign investors, in the next five years.

Sorin Freciu, president of the Management Board of Realitatea-Catavencu Group, from which Money Channel is part, said that “we aren’t talking about a change of shareholders or about a sale of the audiovisual licence”, according to Mediafax.

“The investors will operate Money Channel for five years and will assume a business plan. Operating refers to everything, both financial and editorial. That doesn’t mean, from what we spoke with the investors’ representatives, changes in the editorial management of the TV station. We are at the negotiations phase, some things were agreed upon, but we are talking about a complex transaction. We are still in an early stage, there isn’t any signed contract yet “, Sorin Freciu explained, for Mediafax.

Money Channel was launched on May 1st 2006 and is part of Realitatea – Caţavencu group, controlled by Sorin Ovidiu Vântu.
