Vice Magazine launched on the Romanian online market

Digital & Media, Marketing, Media

Vice Magazine, a trendsetting brand in media at international level, launched, today, in the Romanian online. The brand, a real trendsetter, belongs to Vice Media, that includes 30 areas and develops six platforms: Vice Magazine, Vice Records, Vice Films, Vice Books, VBS.TV and viceland.com

Romania enters this international circuit with the launch of Vice Magazine website, fact that will transform Vice in a real platform to promote the local culture and lifestyle.

Vice covers, with a punk attitude, subjects that covers urban culture, arts, photography, music, cinema, but also social subjects that presents reality and truth without any make up, in a provocative, pertinent, amusing and original style. A part from traditional journalism, that puts accent on being objective, Vice’s approach is based on the experiences its reporters had.

The information is new, the point of view is surprising and the approach in writing the material is free.

The Romanian version of Viceland Magazine is part of Viceland.com, that has over 3.7M users monthly. The site has 7 sections that can be accessed either separately or together: Music, Events, Movies, Fashion, Photo,Interview, Do’s & Dont’s. The subjects are local and international and connect with people’s vices, no matter if they are famous or not or if they are the victims of a society or of a system.

The Photo section, Do’s & Dont’s, is the most appreciated one in all the 30 editions of Vice. It includes photos that are absurd, images with unknown people in unexpected contexts, together with ironic comments.

Vice Media also owns VBS.TV, an online TV channel with over 6.7M unique visitors per month. The online TV completes the Vice experience with short and original documentaries, on subjects ranging from humanitarian cases to music, travel, news and extreme sports.

The reasons that convince us to come up with this provocation on a media market weakened by the crises is the openness of the young people towards new and unconventional, their desire to inform and communicate via a dynamic and interactive channel, that will reflect the urban life and to create a community. A secondary reason, but not less important, is that the Romanian reality can provide an interesting range of vice subjects. A first look on our site will show a provocative approach, the presentation of a cruel reality as it is, with no make up. Vice prefers to show the life as it is: fun, but also sad, grotesque but also magnificent, erotic and violent, but always in motion! And because we look to the future with optimism, we are ready to start the print edition of VICE, a magazine that is distributed for free in the spaces frequented by the young public we target: faculties, cinemas, art galleries, book shops
