Town20.20: 53 entries and 20 Romanian towns competing
Urban development competition Town 20.20, organized by Siemens, attracted by now 53 valid entries – movies that represent the most important areas in Romanian towns and ideas for their development – submitted by people from 20 Romanian towns. The most entries came from Bucharest (15 movies), Cluj (5), Constanta and Iasi (4 movies each).
Running between April 15th – may 31st, Town20.20 contest encourages young people to identify their towns souls, those areas with an important social role, that have the capacity to stimulate the urban vitality.
The project started from youth massive migration from one town to another, as they are not happy of living conditions they have in small towns and migrate towards big towns, that offer them more opportunities for personal development and free time spending. That is why, on long term, big cities development should take in consideration these migratory waves, while small towns must find solutions to increase their atractiveness

The town best represented into competition is Bucharest, that gathered 15 movies, with Assan’s windmill, Old Center, Izvor Park being just some of the areas where young people would like to see changes in the future.
Other towns present in the contest are Timisoara, Oradea, Baia Mare, Miercurea Ciuc, Dej, Tulcea, Brasov, Sibiu, Ploiesti, Pitesti, Botosani, Turnu Severin, Galati, Beclean, Ramnicu Valcea and Piatra Neamt. Two Romanian students even entered the story of some towns in Poland (Wroclaw) or France (Limoges).
