Cannes Lions sets precedents and benchmarks in creative communications the world over. This is only made possible by pulling together the greatest and most respected minds from across the industry. 2014 sees a collection of leading names coming together in Cannes to preside over their respective juries and it’s a real privilege to have them working alongside us
Terry Savage,
Chairman Lions Festivals.
Branded Content & Entertainment Lions jury president is Doug Scott, President and Founder OgilvyEntertainment:
It is an honour to be appointed jury president of the Branded Content & Entertainment Lions category at the 2014 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Content has become an important component of every marketer’s strategy, from social and mobile to experiential and long form video, giving rise to exceptional work from companies both large and small around the world. As the BC&E category celebrates its third year, I look forward to recognising the most creative work from brands and their agencies who continue to push innovation within the industry.
Design Lions Jury will be presided by Karl Heiselman, Global Chief Executive Officer Wolff Olins
Design has the power to make a real difference in people’s lives…to create products, communications and experiences that drive both commercial and social impact. I am deeply humbled to lead a jury in charge of celebrating the best design work from around the globe.
Direct Lions Jury has James McGrath, Creative Chairman of Clemenger BBDO Group Australia, as president
Direct by definition is fast becoming the perfect description of our industry, the best work in the world, the best work of the Cannes lions in 2014 will be defined by its unique observation of and demonstrable effect on behaviour that results in real, measurable and extraordinary responses.
Film Craft Lions Jury is headed by Brian Carmody, Co-Founder and Managing Partner Smuggler USA
I was both shocked and very honored to be asked to serve as a jury chairperson. I’m sure it will be a week of tough debates and strong resolutions. I’m very much looking forward to meeting and getting to know the jury, seeing the world’s best work, and coming away with new lessons learned.
Mobile Lions jury president was appointed Jaime Robinson, Executive Creative Director, Pereira & O’Dell USA
Progressive brands are going to go where there is potential to innovate, and right now mobile is leading that charge. And though it seems that mobile is the new normal, it is a category that is constantly changing and can encompass everything from wearable technology to dynamic content to connected cars. Mobile can reach the right people in such cool, unexpected ways. I can’t imagine a more exciting time to be judging this category.
PR Lions jury has as president Renee Wilson, President North America, MSLGROUP, USA
Never before in the history of the public relations industry, has there been more of an opportunity for the PR function to demonstrate leadership, and the many multi-faceted contributions it can make to the broad world of communications and engagement. I’m thrilled to serve as PR jury president for Cannes Lions at this transformational moment in time.
Press Lions has Rémi Babinet, Founder and Creative Director, BETC France, as president
I am delighted to preside over the Press jury in Cannes this year, not only for the wealth of talent and creative surprises that I know it will bring but also for the discussion about the medium itself: the printed press needs advertising more than ever to confront the digital economy. For advertisers, the press remains a prestigious, quality connection with consumers that screens have not (yet) replaced. It is in everybody’s interest to defend this medium.
Product Design Lions Jury President – Donghoon Chang, Executive Vice President, Samsung Electronics, South Korea
Design is neither a discipline nor a tool, but Design is life – it is about sharing the experience through collaboration and interaction. And sharing the experience through such a meaningful event as Cannes Lions, allows me to celebrate our successes, discuss challenges, and share visions with fellow designers around the world. It is more than honour for me to be part of this, especially for the brand new category of product design.
The annual Cannes Lions, pulling thousands of entries and delegates from across the globe, this year takes place from 15-21 June at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France. Entries can be submitted online until 28 March 2014.
