Euro 7.68BN spent in US for SEM in 2006
A report by Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization stated that North American advertisers spent nearly Euro 7.68bn on search engine marketing (SEM) in 2006, up 62% over 2005.
SEMPO predicts a double of the amount in 2011, to $18.5bn.
For SEM, 96% usedGoogle AdWords to promote their brands, while 86% said they ran their ads onYahoo’s search product, with MSN (68%) following.
