Google is on Caffeine
Google completed its new web indexing system, Caffeine, that provides 50 percent fresher results for web searches than its last index and it’s the largest collection of web content offered by the company, according to a post on Google’s blog.
Caffeine analyzes the web in small portions and updates Google’s search index on a continuous basis, globally.
Caffeine lets us index web pages on an enormous scale, processing, every second, hundreds of thousands of pages in parallel. Caffeine takes up nearly 100 million gigabytes of storage in one database and adds new information at a rate of hundreds of thousands of gigabytes per day.
