Romanian TV Station Owner, TV Producer Detained For 24 Hours On Blackmail Charges
Romanian anticorruption prosecutors Tuesday morning detained television station owner Dan Diaconescu and TV producer Doru Parv for 24 hours, after the two were charged with blackmail on Monday, Mediafax News Agency informs.
Diaconescu and Parv were heard by prosecutors on Monday and the former was officially charged with blackmail in a corruption file opened in February 2010. Both of them will be brought before court on Tuesday and a court is to decide whether the two will be placed under preventive arrest.
