Flickr account for the Queen and British Royal Family

According to Reuters, BuckinghamPalace announced the launch of an account with online photo management site Flickr. The account streams both up-to-the-minute images of royal engagements and archive photographs from the royal collection.

The launch was timed to coincide with the summer opening of BuckinghamPalace and the palace’s exhibition “The Queen’s Year”, opening on July 27.

UK Royal Flickr account features also historic photographs and masterpieces of early British photography collected by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

Flickr is the latest online social media where Buckingham Palace entered, after launching a channel on You Tube in 2007, along with a new royal website, and the launch of the Twitter account, in 2009.
