A Romanian senator thinks swear words usage could be banned over Romanian Internet by the end of the year
Social-democrat senator Olguta Vasilescu said, recently, that a law proposal in which she proposes to introduce a structure to make sure the web pages admins will interdict the usage of swear word on forums “benefits’ of many Parliament’s members support” and a law on this matter might be approved and produce effects by the year’s end.
The senator said also that, through her legislative initiative, doesn’t want to censor internet, but to respect the international legislation. The initiative will be submitted to public discussions next week.
Vasilescu said the law project isn’t initiated to fend politicians from the « obscene » language on forums, but to protect kids that are browsing the internet.
About the moment the draft law might produce effects, Vasilescu advanced as a term the end of the year or the start of 2011,
