Moves on Romanian TV market
Romanian State TV – TVR – ceases its relation with Splendid Media for advertising sales starting September 30th. Starting October 1st, TVR’s Marketing and Sales Department will handle the advertising sales for the TV station.
TVR and Splendid Media made a deal that establishes a calendar for the cease of mutual obligations and the way the contracts transfer will be made. According to the deal, some of the debts owned by Splendid Media to TVR will be paid by the end of the year, while the rest will be paid untill the end of S1 2012.
B1 TV officially turns into a news TV station, according to its new programs schedule, approved on Tuesday by Romanian Audiovisual Council (CNA). From now on, B1 TV will have 74% own productions and 26% content from other producers. B1 TV, controlled by Paunescu family, was launched in December 2001, as a Bucharest local TV station. In 2004, News Corporation, media company founded by Rupert Murdoch, brought 12,5% from TV’s shares. Nowadays, the shareholders of thr TV station are Sorin Oancea (50%) and News Television (Romania – 50%; its shareholders are Dac Air SA – 44.57%, Brazen Limited Liability Company (SUA) – 22.85%, Pavo – 22.57% and Elan Schwartzenberg – 10%)
N24 Plus TV transforms, on October 1st, in Naţional 24 Plus – the TV station is rebranding, with a new logo and a new slogan, keeping its format as a generalist TV.
