WWF, Antena 3 and friends launched “Save the virgin forests” campaign
WWF, Antena 3 and friends launched, during Mihai Gadea’s TV show, the campaign “Save the virgin forests”. The campaign aims to put under protection the 250,000 hectars of virgin forests in Romania, that are among the last in Europe.
Over 80% of Romanian virgin forests aren’t protected in any way and risk to be distructed legally.
WWF sent a letter to the Environment and Forests Ministry , demanding “urgent measures to efficiently protect the last Romanian virgin forests, respectively insuring the legal frame to protect them and allocation of compensatory funds to the private forest owners”.
Antena 3 joined this action and invites all people that want to get involved to sign a petition posted on the www.padurivirgine.ro website, an action that can help changing the actual legislation.
The campaign has a promotional clip in which were involved WWF ambassadors Ada Condeescu, Bogdan Dumitrache, Serban Copot, Alexandru Tomescu and Dani Otil, but also stars from Antena 3, such as Mihai Gadea, Mihaela Birzila, Carmen Avram, Razvan Dumitrescu, Gabriela Vranceanu Firea, Dana Grecua nd Mircea Badea.
WWF is one of the most important and respected international NGOs that works towards nature’s conservation. It has a network of over 5M supporters all over the world and runs projects in over 100 countries.
