Ema Prisca, Serban Alexandrescu and Octav Gheorghe – members in ADC*E Awards jury
Three members of ADC Romania, Ema Prisca, Serban Alexandrescu and Octav Gheorghe, are members in the jury for ADC*E Awards, one of the most prestigious advertising and design competition in Europe.
This year’s ADC*E jury includes over 55 renown creatives from all over Europe and is presided by Andy Cheetham (UK), creative director CheethamBell JWT and member of the executive board of D&AD. He was invited to preside the jury after D&AD return in ADC*E.
Following a partnership between ADC*RO and “10 years of Romanian creativity”, festival organized by The Institute, the winners of prizes for 2011 were able to enter ADC*E Awards this year without paying the entry fee.
This way, at ADC*E 2012, there were entered 12 works signed by 5 Romanian agencies: Grafitti BBDO Bucharest, Leo Burnett Group Romania, Next Advertising, Propaganda and Publicis Romania.
Romanian works entered for the 1st time in ADC European competition will benefit of judging criteria applied also to D&AD, because the Brits are coming back within the organization (…) I think we have at least two Romanian works awarded at the local competition that will also perform in the European contest
Ema Prisca
President ADC*RO
I think most of the works awarded at “10 years of Romanian creativity”, for 2011, have an European tenure and are remarkable even for an international jury. So, after the 2 cinema awards in Cannes, maybe we can catch some, in advertising, in Barcelona
Octav Gheorghe
Creative Director Gavrila & Asociatii
Ema Prisca will be part of Film & Radio jury, while Octav Gheorghe will be member in the Design one and Serban Alexandrescu – in Digital jury.
Being a bit complexed, I did wanted to be in the digital jury, for “documentation”. Inside this jury, I will try to bring to light works that give relevant examples on how to move forwards in a territory in which fog is still floating around. A territory that looks, in 2012, the same TV looked in 1962: full of people that explain us that expressivity doesn’t really matter anymore, technology being more important. I do think there is time to get rid of engineers, that are way too many, and give back privileges to interesting story-tellers. Because, to use a paraphrase, programming like programming, but telling stories kills us

The full componence of the jury is available on ADC*E Awards website . Judging will take place on June 8-9 and the awards gala will be on June 9th, at BOO Restaurant – Beach Club Barcelona.
