Google provides $23M for nonprofit tech innovators, with Global Impact Awards
Google launched Global Impact Awards to support organizations using technology and innovative approaches to tackle some of the toughest human challenges. From real-time sensors that monitor clean water to DNA bar-coding that stops wildlife trafficking, the 1st round of awards provides $23M to seven organizations changing the world.
The 7 organization receiving the awards are charity: water ($5M), The Smithsonian Institution’s Consortium for the Barcode of Life ($3M), DonorsChoose.org ($5M), Equal Opportunity Schools ($1.8M), Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media ($1.2M), GiveDirectly ($2.4M), World Wildlife Fund ($5M)
