Young professionals searching for Genius Loci to compete at Young Cup Competition
On February 1, Intercontinental Advertising CUP opened this year’s Young Cup Competition on Facebook. For the third year in the row, young creatives under 30 years old have the opportunity to be part of The Istanbul CUP. In two years, more than 15,000 people from 117 countries checked entries submitted on Facebook for past competitions. Last year, Young Cup consisted of four rounds and received a total of 199 entries.
In 2013, competition’s organizers and PepsiCo Turkey encourage young creatives to awaken their local spirit and create an image on a topic “Pepsi spirit in your country”. The creatives had 20 days to send in their best ideas. The award will consist in a free pass to the 6th Intercontinental Advertising Cup and Creative Summit, with travel, hotel and entry fee costs covered. The winner will be selected from among the works that receive most likes on Facebook and most points from the jury (Jure Apih – CEO of Intercontinental Advertising Cup, Milka Pogliani – Creative Consultant & Advisor and Karpat Polat – President and Creative Director at DDB&Co. Istanbul).
While young creatives will be searching for the spirit of their country, Cup Jury will be looking for Genius loci in the best works from ADFEST, FIAP, ADC*E and Golden Drum. The jury is presided by Amir Kassaei – Chief Creative Officer DDB Worldwide and includes Michael Conrad – President of Berlin School of Creative Leadership, Yukio Nakayama – Executive Creative Director Dentsu Inc. Japan, Katya Bazilevskaya – Chief Commercial Officer / Creative Director & co-founder Look At Media Russia, Fernando Bellotti – President Leo Burnett Argentina, Andy Cheetham – Creative Director CheethamBellJWT UK, Ilkay Gurpinar – Executive Creative Director & Vice President TBWA Istanbul, Pawel Heinze – Executive Creative Director Leo Burnett Warsaw, Trong Tantivejakul – Chief Creative Officer Y&R Bangkok, Johannes Newrkla – ADC*E Board Member, Founder and CEO Bluetango Austria, Mauricio Rocha – Creative Vice President Y&R Colombia, Hugo Rodrigues – COO & Chief Creative Officer Publicis Brazil and Stanley Wong – Visual Communicator 84000 Communications Hong Kong.
