2 Romanians – winners of YouTube Music Awards 2013

Khaled Mokhtar (image director) and Matei Dima (director) are the winners of “Innovation of the Year” category at the international competition YouTube Music Awards, with a video made for  Destorm – See Me Standing.

The videos were selected by an international jury including musicians and YouTube fans. The criteria taken in consideration were videos creativity, tech novelty and the appreciation from platform’s fans. The public voted the favorite video with like, share and comments on the official page YouTube Music Awards.

If the nomination at YouTube Music Awards was a surprise, winning the prize together with Matei brought me the biggest joy. I thank to YouTube for creating a bridge between artists and people that find in music their lifestyle

Khaled Mokhtar, DOP (director of photograpy) of the project, made music videos for international artists from Romania, such as Inna, Alexandra Stan and Antonia, but also for international artists – Daddy Yankee, Reik, Juan Magan. This year, he was nominated also to Romanian Music Awards in Best Video 2013, with Deepcentral – A Star.

Matei Dima

Matei Dima, videos’ director, is living in Los Angeles and is involved in a series of cinema projects with clients from America and Romania.

DeStorm is American musician and comedy actor, and he is popular on YouTube via his over 250 videos with over 200M views. His channel has over 1.5M subscriers.

YouTube Music Awards was at its first edition and took place in New York.
