FCB Bucharest turned Maison 13 into Google House in Romanian capital
FCB Bucharest was the agency that handled the adaptation and transformation of Maison 13 in Bucharest into Google House, with Romania becoming, this way, the 4th country in the region where this project was implemented. The other countries that have their own Google Houses are Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic.
When the agency was briefed to arrange “Google House”, FCB’s BTL team faced the challenge to find a creative concept colorful and dynamic enough to surprise Google’s spirit. An important component in solving the brief was to find the best architect to decorate the house.
Following a pitch organized by the agency, the mission to fulfill the task was given to Dragos Solot, a young architect that graduated Ion Mincu Architecture University in Bucharest. Dragos has in his portfolio architecture and design projects for offices (Electronic Arts, Roland Berger, Raiffeisen Bank, Vodafone), restaurants and bars (Uptown, Voglio), and design for retail, commercial centers and individual or collective homes
Through Google House project, I adapted the design and functions of an ordinary home to the contemporary lifestyle, which needs a permanent updating to match trends and innovation. Google brand inspired me to reshape the living space for a family by adapting it in relation with the new tech
Dragos Solot.
In the end, the location transformed into a 5 rooms house in which Google technologies were integrated to match passions, interest or occupations of today’s young people, which love travelling, movies, music and IT
Google House opened its doors for 3 days, time during which journalists, specialized bloggers and opinion leaders were able to test and interact with the newest tech presented by the company, in order to show that Google means more than just a search engine
FCB Bucharest’s team working on the project included Alexa Profir – Account Manager; Ana Velici – Events Manager; Catrinel Popescu – Events Executive, Marian Csosz – Production Manager, Catalin Grigore – Art Director.
