Romanian beer to support professional schools, within “Professions for Romania” program
Bucegi beer (a Heineken Romania brand) started the program “Professions for Romania“, the 1st projects on the platform with the same name. The program supports professional post-college schools that contribute to the formal education of blue collars and was created as an answer to the most recent study over professions status in Romania. The study showed that over 53% young Romanians aged 18-24 y.o. would opt for a profession and 71% of them believe the best way to learn one is in school.
Through “Professions for Romania”, we remind Romanians the importance professions and good workers have when it comes of society’s development. We want to encourage and support today’s young people which would opt in for a profession from blue collar category, although those professions aren’t in the top of the ones Romanians are respecting

In present, workers are looked for on the labor market, with over 15,000 available for people with medium and professional studies. Still, the study reveals that unqualified workers represent the 3rd most frequent occupation in Romania, after farmers and vendors.
The program is implemented together with the Junior Achievement NGO and targets classes with students over 18 y.o., with 3 of those schools to receive, following a projects contest, RON 97,000 each from Bucegi. Between September 22nd and October 17th, the schools can apply on a special platform with one or more projects aiming to increase the quality of the educational act. The jury will evaluate the applications until October 26th and the winners will be announced by the end of the same month.
