ING to organize an international hackathon in Romania
ING Bank organizes, in Romania, an international hackathon, scheduled to take place on November 20-12.
The international hackathon 24H-CodING, dedicated to IT professionals and students, is aimed to conceive and implement the most innovative app for the bank of the future. After 2 editions organized in Amsterdam, ING brings in Bucharest the first hackathon organized by a financial institution active in Romania; the purpose is to discover the best and most innovative services and apps.
For 24 hours, developers, programmers, IT specialists and IT employees from ING will compete to win the Romanian edition of the competition. Working as teams, they will implement a new tech or an app aimed to improve customers’ experience and transform ING into the bank of the future.
To enter the hackathon, those interested can apply until October 28th on a dedicated platform and they can do so together with an already existent team (6 to 12 members) or by themselves, in one of the teams that are being formed.
The 5 juries from the Hackthon will select the best and most innovative ideas and the team that scoops the 1st place will be rewarded with a trip to Silicon Valley. Moreover, the top 3 teams will receive awards and their projects will be later implemented by ING.

ING’s Hackathon reached its third edition and the current edition is the first one organized in Romania. The first two editions, which took place in Amsterdam, attracted over 80 teams and had 40 nominated ideas which are analyzed for implementation. The winning idea is currently implemented by ING Netherlands.
For the current edition of the event, ING aims to gather over 300 IT specialists from all over the world and to generate innovative ideas which represent the future’s trends in banking.
