Saint Patrick’s Day to be celebrated with a parade in Bucharest
The celebration of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, will be marked also in Romania, with a spectacular parade scheduled to take place in Bucharest on Sunday, March 20th. The parade will start on Kiseleff Boulevard, will include Calea Victoriei and get to a halt in front of Romanian Athenaeum.
The Irish parade in Romanian capital will be led by H.E. Mr Derek Feely, the Ambassador of Ireland to Romania, and Mr. John Long, President of Ireland Romania Network. The ad interim mayor of Bucharest was invited to join the parade.
The event will gather numerous artists, over 100 pipers and drummers and 2 Irish dancing groups. A 20-strong pipe band comes to Bucharest all the way from Donegal Ireland and will be joined by pipers from Romania and from Bulgarian Varna.
The parade promises to surprise everyone, especially the children.
Previous to the parade, the pipers will have a rehearsal in Herastrau Park. On 19th, a St.Patrick’s concert is scheduled to take place in Bucharest’s Lipscani area.
