Russia – 20 awards and a Grand Prix @PIAF
The PIAF international festival of marketing and advertising closed with the Award Ceremony and a screening of the winning works. The jury composed of the world’s leading marketers and creatives gave a total of 45 prices to 25 agencies from 10 countries. The most successful country was Russia with 20 awards and a Grand Prix. (Czech agencies won 5 awards.)
The festival with its 2-day international conference was held in Prague for the 7th time this year.
Jury Chairman Ben Tollett, creative director Adam & eveDDB London said of the competition: “To be honest, I did not exactly know what to expect, but the quality of the entries was very strong. The whole jury was amazing. It was a great three days in Prague.”

“The competition was dominated by the Russian creative. And after two years we are once again awarding a well-deserved Grand Prix. Five campaigns were in the run, two of them from Russia. It is no coincidence, inspiration doesn’t necessarily have to come from the West,” says Marek Hlavica, Director of PIAF.
The International Advertising Festival in Prague is the largest event of its kind in Central Europe. Every year, the conference-goers get to see up to 30 mainly foreign speakers. The festival’s main focus is innovations and trends in marketing and communication. The festival is traditionally held at the National Gallery of Prague – in the Trade Fair Palace, and is attended by four hundred experts.
The Prague International Advertising Festival – PIAF – is the largest event in the field of marketing and advertising in the region. The festival is an international creative competition and a two-day professional conference. This year’s PIAF was held under the auspices of Prague’s Mayor Adriana Krnáčová.
The 7th jury in the history of the international festival of marketing and advertising, PIAF 2016, was led by one of today’s most recognized Creative Directors – Ben Tollett – from adam&eveDDB London, who also held a lecture at the conference on the agency’s approach to developing creative concepts.
His view on the brand restart of the largest Swiss bank UBS was offered by its Marketing Director Daniel Fischer. Olympic gold medalist Eva Samková shared her experience with sponsoring. Great attention was also given to the presentations given by representatives of the famous European football clubs Borussia Dortmund and Rapid Vienna. One of the highlights was also the lecture by Stephen O’Kelly of the Irish Guinness, who spoke about how to win in the rugby battle of brands. Among the Czech representatives we must not forget to mention Jan Řežáb of Socialbakers, who explained the trends in social media and its limits in commercial communication.
