The 2nd round of shortlists @ Cannes Lions: 8 more nominations for Romania

The Romanian agencies prove themselves strong in the PR category once again, with all 8 of the nominations from today coming from this category.

McCann Bucharest was shortlisted four times today: the Bittersweet Pies campaign for Paul Restaurants gains one nomination in PR, adding to the two from yesterday’s Promo list. Also adding to the Direct nomination from yesterday is Pay with Blood for UNTOLD Festival, who gains two more nominations now, in the PR category. The newcomer today from McCann is Brave Cut, a social campaign for Fundatia Renasterea, shortlisted once in PR.

Publicis Romania brings home 3 nominations with the Bernie Speed Test campaign, in the Costs/Creative Performance PR Campaign, Response/Real-time activity and Public Sector sub-categories.

The final nomination of the day goes to Purity Test, Cohn and Jansen for Aqua Carpatica, raising to a total of two, including yesterday’s one in Promo.

All in all, Romania has now 16 chances to step on the most-wanted stage in the industry. The leader so far is McCann Bucharest, with a total of 8 nomination, followed by Publicis with 5 and in third place, Cohn and Jansen with 2. Ogilvy & Mather Bucharest also has 1 nomination.

This year, Romania had a record number of entries: 187, compared to 151 in 2015. Also in the race for a trophy are the Young Lions teams, in Design and Cyber. Best of luck to all competitors.
