Mihai Gongu joins Jung von Matt Berlin as Creative Director

Mihai Gongu, who was the creative leader at Romanian GMP Advertising during the last 5 years, is joining Jung von Matt Berlin’s team. Mihai will continue to work with GMP on strategic projects, helping the consolidation of the partnership between his former agency –  Jung von Matt’s Romanian partner – and the German network.

As part of Jung von Matt Berlin’s team, Mihai Gongu will coordinate, as Creative Director, the European communication for the Mini account.

I wanted to work at European level and I am happy I am able to do that while remaining close to GMP, the agency where I had the biggest professional satisfactions. I am sure the team in Bucharest, coordinated by Olivia Basag, will continue to write history for the courageous clients of the strongest CEE independent agency

Mihai, who was one of the main forces behind the Why don’t you come over? campaign, will join effectively Jung von Matt/Spree starting August 7th.

I’ve met Mihai four years ago, at the meetings of network’s creatives. I am very happy he joins our team in Berlin and I believe the partnership between GMP and Jung von Matt will be even stronger now

Mihai Gongu, one of the most valuable creative directors in CEE, has in his portfolio over 100 awards in national and international competition, including  Grand Prix (Eurobest, Golden Drum and Effie), Gold (ADC Awards, NYF), Silver (Clio) and Bronze (Epica).  He started his career in advertising in 2002, was the first Romanian creative to compete at Cannes Young Lions (2005). Also, he was part of juries at festivals like New York Festivals, Eurobest, Effie, ADC Europe and president of jury at Golden Drum 2014.
