Bob Toma takes over the creative reins at Romanian Rusu+Bortun
Bob Toma, Senior Romanian creative with over 14 years of experience within the ad industry, took over the creative reins at Rusu+Bortun as agency’s Creative Director, in charge for all agency’s work for local and regional clients.
On June 1st, we celebrated 9 years of Rusu+Borțun Brand Growers (…) It is a turning point for us and we aim to bring forward all we accumulated during those years. In all we do, innovation means people who are better then we are to provoke us to break the rhythm. We were looking for a Creative Director art-oriented, with focus on craft, and Bob joining the team for a few months already marks bigger expectations from ourselves. We know each other since 2000 when we were working on the same street, but in different agencies. Then we saw each other again, within Art Directors Club, and, from one word to another, a plan was set
Catalin Rusu,
Chief Creative Partner & CEO Rusu+Borțun
With a master in visual arts, Bob started his career in D’Arcy, then his career continued in Gavrilă&Asociații, Grey, Graffiti BBDO and Publicis, with nominations and awards in international and local festivals (Cannes Lions, Eurobest, New York Festivals, Epica, Effie, Ad’Or, AdPrint) and many apparitions in Lurzer’s Archive. He worked for many different brands, such are SAB Miller, Skol, Granini, Romtelecom, Petrom, Dacia, Wrigley, GSK, Bancpost, JTI, BAT, P&G, Kinder, Strauss, Visa, Capital, Carturesti, Romanian National Library, Foreign Policy, and so on.
I’ve heard and seen beautiful things signed by R+B and I thought it is the moment for a change and I met with them. Even if it is a young agency, the team from R+B includes experienced seniors with quite a few years behind, but also very young people, with creative potential and passion for what they are doing. I liked this mix from the start and, together, I believe we have the same objectives. Mainly to increase agency’s reputation with quality work and, in the same time, to make creative campaigns, visible ones, that would generate momentum not just in Romania (…) I believe people are important and they change the place (…)
Bob Toma,
Creative Director Rusu+Borțun
