Decathlon opened in Romania its first logistic center in SEE
Decathlon, the international sports retailer, inaugurated its first logistic center in Romania, with the purpose to supply 3 SEE countries, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. With a strategic importance at regional level, the space lays on an area of 29.000 sq.m. and the capacity to supply at least 30 stores.
The value of the investment is of Euro 4M and the activities related to projecting and setting up the center lasted almost 7 months. The deposit is situated close to Bucharest and will host a stock of over 1.5M sports articles, with daily deliveries to be between 50,000 – 180,000 products a day, depending on season and order.
Besides supplying the 30 stores, from which 20 commercial spaces form the Romanian national network, the logistics center will deliver also the products ordered via www.decathlon.ro, as online commerce is an important component in developing Decathlon’s retail.
The inauguration of the center was made with a press conference where the management of Decathlon Romania was present, along with representatives of the Romanian authorities.
