Brian McBride, ASOS Chairman, to be keynote speaker at Romanian GPeC Summit
GPeC Summit – The Most Important E-Commerce and Online Marketing Event in Central and Eastern Europe – has just announced the next event which will be held in Bucharest on May 29-30-31. The central keynote speaker which will take the stage at GPeC SUMMIT is Brian McBride, Chairman of ASOS – the leading online fashion retailer.
Brian began his career at Xerox, and then worked at IBM and Dell to become T-Mobile UK’s Managing Director. In 2006, he became the CEO of Amazon UK, position for which he had 12 interviews, the last with Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon. After 6 years of leading Amazon UK, Brian was elected Chairman of ASOS – the largest online fashion retailer, a job held for six years now. At the same time, he is also chairman of Wiggle, one of the largest online retailers of bicycle equipment, and a member of the Board of Advisors in the Digital Department of the UK Government.
In his keynot speech at GPeC SUMMIT May 29-31, 2018, Brian McBride will talk about the uniqueness and evolution of ASOS, from a simple start-up in the UK to the retailer who managed to “dress” Michelle Obama during the second presidential campaign of Barack Obama, with a $ 93 dress (November 2012).
The photo has become viral and symbolic for the ASOS brand, and the dress – launched 3 years before Michelle bought and worn it – has become a star product including for the Hollywood stars like Jessica Alba.
ASOS Chairman will also reveal some of the giant retailer’s secrets at the GPeC Summit such as: Evolution towards competitors, lessons about the correct positioning in the fashion industry and when you start your road, or how to turn customers into true brand ambassadors. In addition, the presentation will also highlight the latest trends in eCommerce, insights into online consumer behavior, and the evolution of the digital environment in general across markets.
