Sheraton Bucharest Hotel launched Marriott Bonvoy App

Sheraton Bucharest Hotel, part of the biggest global hotels group, Marriott International, launched for the first time in Romania the last generation system Mobile Key, available to the clients through the app Marriott Bonvoy App, exclusively created for the Marriott Bonvoy members, the travel program with unique benefits in the Marriott International network.

The app allows the guests to do the check-in prior to the arriving at the hotel, to be announced in the moment the room is ready, to add the services and the facilities that they want to benefit from, to communicate with the hotel through the app’s mobile chat and to access Mobile Key.

Mobile Key is a virtual key that helps the guest open the room’s door with the phone’s help. The guest enters the app, reserves the room and in the moment he /she receives the room’s number, he /she also receives the virtual card on the phone, that he /she can use to open the door, without being necessary the check-in at the hotel’s reception, the guest being able to go directly in the room.

The implementing of the Mobile Key system was a beautiful challenge for us and the process ended successfully, in the initially estimated deadline, last year. It’s a premiere for the hotel market in Romania and I am proud of my team for succeeding this. Marriott International intends that up to 2012 all the hotels part of the group have available this system and Sheraton Bucharest is the first one in Romania to have implemented it. For an easier interaction between the guest and the hotel’s reception the Marriott Bonvoy App also offers the check-out option, followed by the receiving of the invoice via e-mail.

In order to implement this facility, Sheraton Bucharest Hotel installed the RFID Signature locks that allow using this virtual key. For a complete experience, the guests can use Mobile Key also for access in other areas of the hotel such as the lifts, the fitness hall, the pool, Sheraton Club.
