Gabriela has the energy of three people, which is so important as we add to the culture we’ve created. Energy creates ideas. And ideas create growth. It’s great to have her on board.
Gabriela brings over fifteen years in senior creative roles across channels and cultures. Her most recent agency role was creative partner at TBWA/London helping launch Disruption Live (creating ideas rooted in culture) and working on Airbnb where she gave the impetus for one of the most effective brand’s global campaigns. Before that she was UK & EMEA chief creative officer for Weber Shandwick, setting up the creative function and leading creative turnaround of the PR firm across all markets in the region.
Gabriela is from Romania and, in her home country, she worked with Ogilvy for ten years, starting as a copywriter and ending up running one of Ogilvy’s business units. She has also been a successful entrepreneur, founding a creative consultancy ‘The Practice’ and selling it to an international network seven years later, when the agency was rated globally as one of the most creative of its kind.
Frequently invited to speak at major industry events and judge A-list awards, Gabriela has been Chair of the Clios and Dubai Lynx, and sat on juries for D&AD, Cannes Lions, EFFIE UK, Ad Stars Asia, and Campaign Big Awards, as well as a host of local competitions.
She is a vocal activist for diversity and inclusion involved in supporting women in the workplace such as Women in Marketing, Global Women in PR . In the last two years she has been a mentor for See It Be It, a Cannes Lions’ program aiming to accelerate the career of next generation of female creative directors.
When not working as a creative director, she is a creative leadership trainer at WINGS Creative Leadership Lab, her own firm. In 2018 Gabriela was awarded for her work with Wings at Women in Marketing Global Awards [Women in Marketing organisation] with Independent Consultant of the Year trophy; she was a speaker at Cannes Lions School and the Festival of Marketing. In 2019 sees her partner with Cannes Lions & 42courses.com for their online course about storytelling.
