Catalin Dobre, CCO McCann Bucharest is the only Romanian present in Creative 100, Adweek 2019, being in top 13 among the most appreciated Global Creative Leaders whose ideas redefine the advertising industry.
Adweek, one of the most important media and marketing publications in the world published the top of the most fascinating Marketing, Media and Culture personalities in 2019. The magazine’s annual top gathers the most important personalities in the field worldwide. From its residents one can mention Ryan Reynolds, LeBron James, Billie Eilish, Olivia Wilde and many more.
The presence in Adweek’s Creative 100 represents an honor especially because the list contains not only advertising people. It’s a list of creatives from all the disciplines, the common trait found by the American publication being the innovative,fresh work that brings something new in the respective industries. It’s good we have a Romanian there and it’s flattering that I am the one. I hope it shows everyone that we can be an example of creative work done and coordinated from here,from Romania,” said Catalin Dobre.
Graduated from the Philosophy University, Catalin Dobre entered advertising in 2004, his first job being copywriter at McCann Bucharest. In 2012 he became Executive Creative Director McCann Bucharest, than in 2016- Chief Creative Officer McCann Worldgroup Romania and the following year Regional Creative Officer McCann Central Eastern Europe.
During his 15 years of career, Catalin won 33 Lions in Cannes, among which 2 Grand Prixs and a Titanium. Moreover, his campaigns were awarded at all the international advertising festivals in the world: D&AD, Clio, One Show, Eurobest, LIA, New York Festival and Golden Drum. Since taking the lead over the region, McCann CEE kept for 2 years in a row the title of Network of the Year at the most important festival in central Europe, Golden Drum.
Catalin is part of the first Romanian top Forbes 30 under 30 and received in 2010 the IAA Excellence Award for creating the campaign that brought the first Grand Prix at Cannes Lions in Eastern Europe.
