eurobest 2019 – open for entries
eurobest awards, which celebrate and benchmark European creativity and effectiveness, have opened for entries. eurobest has announced significant changes to the Awards in 2019. New and updated categories and criteria aim to best reflect the current marketing and communications landscape and set the barometer for the most exceptional work emerging from the European region. Across 23 focused Awards, eurobest honours ground-breaking ideas and celebrates the diversity and dynamism of Europe.
Changes for 2019 include:
- Two new Awards: Creative eCommerce – celebrating creative, commercial eCommerce, payment solutions and innovation; and Creative Strategy – honouring work with a strong strategic narrative that has redefined a brand, reinvented a business or influenced consumers and culture.
- The Print & Outdoor Craft Award has been revamped and renamed as Industry Craft to celebrate the creative artistry, talent and skill required to deliver a beautifully executed solution and bring a creative idea to life.
- The new Challenges & Breakthroughs section, added across 11 eurobest Awards, recognises creativity with a specific focus on culture and context. It recognises work created for smaller, as well as challenger brands, hinged on local, cultural insights, and awards the strength of the idea, not the size of the budget.
eurobest has also announced the revision of its jury guidelines, delivered in partnership with the Unstereotype Alliance to champion equal representation and confront inequality. The new criteria urge all jury members reviewing entries to consider whether the work perpetuates negative stereotypes and inequalities before it is awarded.
Louise Benson, VP Festivals:
Since it launched 31 years ago, eurobest has listened to the industry and introduced changes to reflect the evolving landscape. I’m hugely excited to see the very best of European creativity celebrated in the eurobest Awards and discover the insights and ideas that are setting the future creative agenda.
Entries close on 24 October 2019. Judging will take place in London, UK, and winners will be announced on 9th December. The top accolades – Grands Prix and special awards – will be revealed at eurobest Unwrapped. This focused, invite-only, event on 12 December, taking place at the Aqua Restaurant in the Shard, will be live-streamed from London.
The European creative industry is invited to tune in to the broadcast to hear awards announcements and presentations from eurobest juries, who will deep-dive into the trends and share tangible insights on ways to measure performance and impact. The European Creativity Report will also be presented. The new-look report will feature European trends and statistics, as well as jury insights, and will be sent to all eurobest entrants, shared across official social channels, and distributed to over 90 organisations in our international Festival Representatives network.
