Primer to pre-accelerate start-ups from Romania in areas like energy and smart city
Romanian start-ups developing products or services in areas like energy, smart city, mobility, intelligent electric networks, nuclear instruments, clean tech, guel or IT will be able to participate in January (Bucharest) and February (Braov) 2020 to InnoEnergy PRIMER – pre-acceleration program from InnoEnergy.
The main objective of the program is to offer support to innovators when it comes of developing entrepreneurial skills and to prepare them for acceleration programs and the ones for grants and investments. Primer consists in several theory and coaching sessions and workshops in 40 hours of theory and practice, with professional mentors, industry experts and experienced entrepreneurs. The program will end with a Demo Day, where every team will have time for a 4 minutes pitch, followed by a 3 mins Q&A session.
Primer represents a gateway for start-ups and innovators at the beginning of their journey to the InnoEnergy eco-system. Once passed through Primer, the teams can enter within the acceleration programs Highway and Boostway from InnoEnergy in order to receive investments, to bring their innovations on the market or to scale at global level. InnoEnergy is the biggest international accelerator focused on energy, inclusively on smart city or mobility

Primer offers access to instruments, materials and methodologies needed in developing entrepreneurial abilities and business development, guidance to choose and adapt proper business models, guidance and support to access financing and to attract investments, training for presenting pitches, feedback from experts in the industry. By the end of the program, start-ups will develop a set of deliverables that can be used to apply to the acceleration program Highway and which are documents the potential investors will ask for (they include from letter of intention, market strategy, roadmap and competitive market description.
Startups at the start of their journey and innovators who have ideas and develop products and services in the energy sector or relevant sectors for that. Around 30 teams will be selected for participation, with ideas at a mature stage (preferable at prototype stage) and which are from the following sectors:
- Smart city and mobility
- Renewable energy
- energetic efficiency
- storing energy
- intelligent electrical networks
- nuclear instrumentation
- clean tech for coal and gas
- energy from chemical fuels
- IT sector with impact over energy and environment

InnoEnergy, European Commission’s accelerator focused on innovation in the energy sector, represents an initiative of the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT) and it is financed through the program Horizon 2020.
Through InnoEnergy network’s hubs there were attracted over 3,000 applications with business ideas within network’s programs, there were supported over 300 products and services with services and financing, investments were made in companies evaluated to over Euro 125M and InnoEnergy Master and Doctor degrees were organized for over 750 specialists.
