#EnergieEroilor initiative to support the medical staff, signed by ENGIE Romania and Daruieste Viata, promoted by Cheil | Centrade
As the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact is increasingly being felt in Romania and the number of confirmed infected people rises, hospitals are being hardest hit by surging critical cases. Whether they are doctors, nurses, care staff, ambulance staff or stretcher staff, the heroes on the first line of battle fighting this pandemic are being tested more than ever before and desperately need our support and solidarity.
Launched via social media, the central theme of the campaign bring to life a manifesto film inviting Romanians to post short videos on Facebook of them and their loved ones applauding the medical staff essentially communicating the message “Thank you”, and using the #EnergieEroilor hashtag.
“We are proud to have such partners who understand how to support the community during difficult times. This has inspired us to create and produce this project in record time, despite the fact that our partners from Chainsaw Europe are currently working from home,”
Mihai Gongu,
Executive Creative Director, Cheil | Centrade
“ENGIE has always believed in the power of people to give energy to others and this has inspired us to provide energy for good deeds. We know that heroes in hospitals need equipment and that is why we have directed support funds. However, we believe that they also need our gratitude, the people staying home,”
Amalia Anghel,
Corporate Communication and Brand Manager ENGIE Romania
ENGIE Romania is supporting first line healthcare professionals and patients affected by the SARS-CoC-2 virus through a financial contribution of 250,000 euros, directed to several organizations: the National Red Cross Society of Romania, Daruieste Viata and HOSPICE Casa Sperantei. The funds donated to the National Red Cross Society of Romania and Daruieste Viata, in the amount of 100,000 euros each, will be used for the acquisition of equipment for medical professionals, as well as ventilation equipment or needed materials defined as critical for patients tested positive with COVID-19. Another 50,000 euros are being allocated for the care of patients with oncological diseases, discharged from hospitals to make room for patients with COVID-19 and for HOSPICE Casa Speranței as an alternative for the continuation of treatment to prevent endangering their lives.
Through this contribution, the company reaffirms its support for improving the conditions of the Romanian medical system, in which it has invested, from 2013 until now, 1,350,000 euros.
