Futuristic rogue-lite FPS PositronX, developed by the Romanians at Scorpius games,blasts its way out of Early Access on October 29th
Romanian games developer Scorpius Games are pleased to announce its rogue-lite first person shooter PositronX is leaving Early Access and launching fully on Steam this October 29th for £17.99 / $19.99 / €19,99 with a 10% discount. PositronX focuses on strategic fast paced combat, creative time & space mechanics, detailed graphics and phoenix-like rising from the ashes as players blast their way through the always new algorithmically generated levels.
PositronX leaves Early Access fully loaded with added extras: A new stage will be added at launch in addition to the current three stages. Three new characters will join the current roster: Quark – a silent but deadly assassin, Neutron – a devastating damage dealer and Graviton – a master of Time. The arsenal at your disposal is also increasing with two new weapons to unload on your opponents: the Core gun and Time gun. All of this will be needed and more when finally coming face to face with the game’s big final boss – The Machina.
In PositronX, rooms are algorithmically generated from a pool of predefined constructs for every play through and death is permanent! This results in no environmental recall to assist you since players will tackle a brand new industrial dungeon every time. However with each fall, you rise again stronger with hordes of new loot and implants at your disposal. These implants bestow abilities that will allow players to manipulate the fire fight into their favour such as altering time and space, summon minions to help you, shrink in size, create decoys among others. On top of being able to wall run to outwit their opponents, players can slow down, stop or rewind time itself, soar above their enemies, use telekinesis to stop bullets inflight before flinging them back at your adversaries and even teleport across vast spaces in an instant.
Choose between seven different playable characters with their own unique abilities and load out with a cache of weapons, all upgradable, as you make your way through every stage with deadly force. PositronX’s movement mechanics and retro industrial aesthetic compliment the perfect combination of 90s shooter gameplay akin to Quake 2 & Descent with a roguelite design to form a highly combative, addictively re-playable experience.

Founded in 2010 by two brothers, Eugen and Florin, through their mutual passion for video games. Their first project, I Shall Remain, an action RPG combining role-playing elements in a unique way with survival and strategic elements. The game debuted in 2013 on Steam Greenlight, launched a year later on Early Access and in September 2015 was fully released. Soon after this work began on PositronX, a game fueled by childhood and teenage nostalgia. Remembering “the good ol’ days” as a time when games were about tight gameplay and creative problem solving while feeling like a badass. Combined with their love for roguelite games PositronX was born.
