Eurobest – 2020 shortlists, announced
Eurobest has today announced that 377 entries from across 23 European countries have made it onto the 2020 shortlists. Sweden, France and Belgium lead, while Belarus has received its first shortlisting in the Film category. Now in their 32nd year, the awards – which are part of the LIONS family – honor the very diverse creative excellence in Europe.
For the first time, the Eurobest juries have been judging remotely through a series of sessions led by their jury presidents.
Gabriela Lungu, Global Creative Director, Geometry Global, who has been presiding over the Glass, Brand Experience & Activation and Creative eCommerce juries, said about the judging:
“Even though we are apart, in 5 different countries, the judging experience is great – very human with robust and rigorous processes in place. We’ve had brilliant discussions, lively debates, good fun and great camaraderie. Everyone was very serious about the process, but we didn’t take ourselves too seriously which always helps for an honest, open conversation.”
The Gold, Silver & Bronze winners will be announced on Monday 7 December, 10:00am GMT on the Eurobest website, with the Grand Prix and Special Award winners revealed by the Jury Presidents on the Eurobest Unwrapped webpage on Thursday 10 December from 10:00am GMT.
Alongside the 2020 winners, The Eurobest Creativity Report will also be released on Thursday 10 December. The Report presents the definitive European rankings with which to benchmark excellence for the year ahead, as well as in-depth commentary on the winning work, insights from the jury rooms and discussions on the key trends identified by the jurors.
Susie Walker, Head of Awards, LIONS, said:
“As we begin to analyse and interrogate this year’s work and awards we’re already seeing some interesting trends emerging from across Europe. The Report will look at areas like responsible consumerism, accelerated adoption, positive imperfections and technology for humans. We’ll be diving into these on a much more granular level in the Report and using our Jury Presidents for some focused insights and opinion.”
Following the announcement of the winners on Eurobest Unwrapped, all of the Eurobest entries will be made available on The Work. Presented by LIONS, The Work is a learning and intelligence platform that features over 200,000 global pieces of work as well as 1,600 talks from a decade of Cannes Lions.
The full Eurobest shortlists are now available to view on the Eurobest website as well as further information around this year’s jury presidents and juries, and the Eurobest Young Creative Competition.
