Solution for “meeting zombies” from Slido
Slido, the industry-leading audience interaction platform, launches a new brand campaign to address the problem of unengaging meetings that turn many meeting attendees into meeting zombies.
The company uses the campaign to humorously point out a serious problem of ineffective meetings. According to Slido’s recent research* conducted among 1,500 US office workers, 47% find remote meetings unengaging. Translated to the campaign’s main theme: Almost half of all remote meetings are turning us into meeting zombies.
Since its beginning in 2012, Slido has been helping users to run more engaging, “zombie-free” meetings. Slido offers a range of poll types, quizzes, and audience Q&A that help turn passive attendees into active participants. This message is captured in the new online campaign.
“Over the past year, we all spent long hours at online meetings, many of which were ineffective and unengaging. In our recent study, we found out that 49% of office workers daydream, and 42% look at the news during meetings. It’s a clear indicator that something is not working. We wanted to point out the most common problems in an amusing way, but at the same time celebrate all the meeting organizers who are doing their best to keep their participants engaged,” comments Slido CEO, Peter Komornik.
The video shot introduces different types of meeting zombies – the absent-minded Nodder, the Scroller, the Sleeper, and the Fly Catcher – illustrating the most common pitfalls of ineffective meetings. As they get gradually engaged by the Slido polls and Q&A, they are coming back to life one by one, positioning Slido as an effective weapon against unengaging meetings.
The campaign doesn’t stop with the video. Slido also launches a real-time Zombie Detector for the Snap Camera – a special add-on for video calls that automatically checks engagement of meeting participants. As soon as they become disengaged, the detector visually turns a participant into a zombie and displays a warning for the meeting organizer.
The Zombie Detector is free, and can be found in the Snap Camera directory under the search term “Meeting zombies” or just “Slido”. Once installed, you can use it with Webex, Zoom, Teams, Skype, Slack and other video conferencing tools.
The campaign created by the Slovak creative agency TRIAD, will be aired on YouTube and US targeted social media from April 19th.
