Romania: €150,000 investment from Neogen Capital to develop Tulipr.ro, marketplace for events industry
Romanian investment fund Neogen Capital, specialized in developing online marketplace businesses, expands its portfolio and enters events industry, with a €150,000 investment in Tulipr.ro, platform connecting event service providers with customers interested in organizing an event.
Most of the investment will be directed towards platform’s development by adding new functionalities to allow users to organize and coordinate a complete event through Tulipr.ro. The rest of the financing will go to the promotion of the platform so that the service reaches as many potential users as possible.
Tulipr.ro was launched in October 2020 and posted significant growth since. Just 6 months after launch, the platform was hosting more than 500 active suppliers and was checked by thousands of users interested in organizing a private or business event. In May 2021 alone, more than 100 successful contracts were closed via Tulipr.ro.
Ioana Dragomir, one of the founders of Tulipr.ro.
“Tulipr.ro started precisely from the need to centralize the multitude of products and services in the events industry, but also to create a structured and easy-to-navigate platform for customers. After an incubation period of several months, during which we researched and analyzed similar business models in Europe and the United States, we created a concept adapted for the Romanian market, in the form of Tulipr.ro. Launching in pandemics helped us, because we were able to connect and even get to know at least a third of the suppliers personally. In addition, the pandemic accelerated the transition to online, so at the time of launching Tulipr.ro, the need to find clients and suppliers for events efficiently online was already very clear”
The pandemic forced people and companies to postpone events they had planned. After the anti-COVID restrictions were lifted, interest soared. The Tulipr.ro platform has seen a higher number of requests for the summer period this year, and requests are already starting to come in for events planned for 2022 with a higher level of complexity than before.
Calin Fusu, CEO Neogen
“It’s a very good time for the events industry. In order to adapt, players need to be as visible and accessible to each other as possible so that the process of organising an event is as efficient as possible. The Tulipr.ro platform does exactly that, connecting clients with service providers, increasing visibility for those in the industry and offering more options to those who want an event”
The platform helps everyone in the events industry to increase their visibility by connecting supply and demand in a simple, fast and transparent way through a smart system.
Larisa Burcă, founder Tulipr.ro
“Further, we are focusing on the quality and functionality of the platform so that it becomes indispensable for all event organisers. Our goal is that by the end of the year, the platform will become the largest marketplace for events and every day a successful collaboration will be concluded through it”
Tulipr.ro aims to streamline the process of identifying and contracting service providers for events, thus coming to the support of event organizers, individual or corporate clients. Users fill in the form with key information and it is automatically distributed, according to algorithms, to all suppliers whose profile matches the client’s needs.
Tulipr.ro is aimed at the private, corporate, cultural and social events sector. The platform was launched by Larisa Burcă and Ioana Dragomir, who have complementary experiences and skills, which contributed to the development of the concept. Larisa is familiar with the events industry where she works as an Event Planner, while Ioana leads global digital transformation projects in the corporate environment.
