When in Rome, Prime Video and Ogilvy Italy launched the Staraoke: the first karaoke in the sky

Amazon Prime Video and Ogilvy Italy create a unique user experience under the sky above Rome to launch the new Original movie Laura Pausini – Piacere di conoscerti, available on Prime Video from April 7, 2022. 

To do so, Prime Video and Ogilvy Italy left the stage to her fans’ voice. On April 6, in the sky above Rome, 500 drones flew over the Colosseum’s Archeological Park, reaching 100 mt height and creating a unique show. The drones synchronized with ‘Scatola’, the original film song, to create a karaoke show all over the city, making the sky the biggest karaoke screen ever, with lyrics stretching 130 meters (about 426.51 ft) large and 60 meters tall. 2000 fans were invited to sing along with Laura Pausini for a once in a lifetime singalong.  

The experience that combined the latest trend technology with a unique cultural environment was created after more than 3 weeks of programming by Roman innovation agency, T3kne, in collaboration with Artech and Dronisos, a French agency specialized in automatized drones’ technology. 

The movie Laura Pausini – Piacere di conoscerti, based on an original idea by Pausini, is written by Ivan Cotroneo (La kryptonite nella borsa, Un bacio), Monica Rametta (Un bacio, Il volto di un’altra) and Laura Pausini, and directed by Ivan Cotroneo. Francesca Picozza serves as creative producer and Gherardo Gossi (Diaz, Le sorelle Macaluso) as the director of photography. The movie is based on a question: what would have happened if Laura had not won the Sanremo Music Festival (Italian Song Contest) that night in 1993? The Queen of Italian Pop is in front of a feature film camera for the first time ever for a project that makes room for her love for cinema and unveils Pausini’s true soul to the audience through exclusive never-before-seen glimpses of her private and professional life while giving her a fantastic opportunity to discover new unknown aspects of herself and of her world, which will be revealed to the audience for the first time.  

Laura Pausini – Piacere di conoscerti is produced by Endemol Shine Italy (a Banijay company) for Amazon Studios and will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on April 7 in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
