Sibling Rivalry Films adds new director Bethany Mollenkof
Sibling Rivalry Films, an independent creative production company known for its work with brands such as HBO on the launch of Legendary, Beats, and redesigning BET, is adding Bethany Mollenkof as a new Director to its growing roster.
Mollenkof lives in Los Angeles, CA and while she is originally from the South, she grew up in Kenya and South Africa. Prior to joining Sibling, Mollenkof worked at The Los Angeles Times as a visual journalist. Most recently, as an independent Photographer/Director, she conducted work for ESPN directing a Fifty/50 celebrating 50 years of title IX that will show at the Tribeca Film Festival this Friday, June 10th.
Mollenkof’s photos were featured in Apple’s widely popular Super Bowl ad in 2021 and in the same year she was a featured speaker at The National Geographic Storytelling Summit.
She regularly photographs notable personalities like Lizzo, Sandra Oh, and Barack Obama for The New York Times and other clients. Additionally, her portfolio includes projects for Time Magazine, Nike, Meta and Instagram amongst many others. Mollenkof has also received significant recognition throughout her career including being named a Neiman Fellow at Harvard and one of the top 30 emerging photographers to watch in 2022.
Mollenkof creates beautifully sensorial visuals that explore the complexities and nuances in intimate female & character-driven narratives. Her work has an undeniable authenticity rooted in her curiosity and desire to share stories with genuine emotion.
