NTT DATA Centre in Sibiu, inaugurated during the opening ceremony of FITS
NTT DATA Romania inaugurated its new office in Sibiu on Friday, June 24th, in an artistic atmosphere, embracing its Japanese heritage. The event took place at the same time as the official opening of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS), in which the Japanese company is the innovation partner.
The FITS’ festival opening brought art and innovation together
The event was an excellent opportunity to meet business and community partners with whom NTT DATA Romania, an important player in the IT services market, shares the same values. Among the guests were the Ambassador of Japan to Romania, His Excellency Mr. Hiroshi Ueda, Minister of Culture Lucian Romascanu, together with distinguished representatives of the Romanian authorities and cultural community, as well as members of NTT DATA top management.
The programme included an outstanding performance by Yamamoto Noh Theatre from Osaka, a revival of one of the oldest forms of traditional Japanese theatre included in UNESCO World Heritage. The Noh Theatre originated around 700 years ago, and remains the oldest surviving form of mask theatre in the world, playing a key role in shaping Japan’s cultural identity.
The guests were greeted by Maria Metz, CEO NTT DATA Romania, Kazuhiro Nishihata, Senior Executive Vice President NTT DATA and Constantin Chiriac, President of FITS and Director of the National Theatre “Radu Stanca” Sibiu, who introduced the participants to the atmosphere that linked innovation and technology with Japanese art and culture.
After the opening ceremony of the festival, the guests visited the new NTT DATA Romania headquarters and then took part in open-air performances organised by FITS in Sibiu’s Grand Square.
“Very rarely is a relevant achievement the result of individual actions. Most often it is the result of a team effort and the magnitude of the result lies in the way the team understands how to collaborate and in the quality of the interaction with the external environment: partners, customers, authorities. The sooner we understand that each of our individual actions has a more or less visible impact on everyone around us and on the environment, the better we will be able to attract people and experiences that help us move towards a sustainable society.
Today’s event prooves it: the inauguration of the new headquarters is an important urban revitalization project that has led to the transformation of this area of Sibiu and FITS has put Sibiu on the map of the world’s biggest cultural events. It is no coincidence that today we are partners in this event of double significance. Beyond the strong connection that each of us has with Japan, we are bound by the natural desire to give something back to the community we are part of,” said Maria Metz, CEO of NTT DATA Romania.
Into the future – a design concept for NTT DATA employees and future IT professionals
NTT DATA Romania’s new office, NTT DATA Center Sibiu, located in the Trei Stejari area, continues the company’s mission to bring innovation and actively contribute, through a visionary approach, to creating the future. The building was conceived as a multifunctional space and designed for social interactions. An amphitheatre and 3 classrooms have been set up, mainly to support the academic environment, students and scholars who can participate in specialized courses and trainings.
The new office offers a fitness room dedicated to both employees and outsiders, a cafeteria and a dining area where employees can spend their lunch break or enjoy the view of the Făgăraș Mountains from the terrace. It is a complex, comfortable and modern space, conceived and created by Morphoza design office for employees who choose to use office space when they want, through the shared-desk concept.
