Peter Gisel-Ekdahl took over as CEO of PostNord Sweden
Peter Gisel-Ekdahl has been appointed the new CEO of PostNord Sweden. He joins PostNord from the global specialized freight company Envirotainer and will take up his new role on June 3, 2024.
PostNord Sweden is now taking another important step forward by recruiting a new CEO with broad international experience and a proven ability to successfully lead businesses on comprehensive journeys of transformation.
Peter Gisel-Ekdahl has a long professional career featuring several leading roles in international industrial companies, for example at the world-leading air treatment company Munters, where he was head of the FoodTech and AirTech business areas. He was most recently CEO of Envirotainer, a Swedish world leader in specialized transport and integrated cold chain for the pharmaceutical industry.
“Following a comprehensive recruitment process, we are pleased to be able to welcome Peter Gisel-Ekdahl as the new CEO of PostNord Sweden. He is a very experienced and successful leader with a strong customer focus and a good track record from large companies with operations and sales in global markets,” says Annemarie Gardshol, President and Group CEO PostNord.
PostNord has a stated goal of becoming the preferred supplier in the Nordic region and has invested in building up an extensive Nordic terminal and delivery network in recent years. Its ongoing initiatives aim to create structurally improved profitability over time, thereby strengthening PostNord’s competitiveness, while at the same time providing better conditions for exploiting the strength of the Nordic network.
“In his previous roles, Peter has demonstrated a strong strategic ability which, combined with an inclusive and value-driven leadership style, has helped create profitable growth. With his background and wide-ranging experience in change management, he will further strengthen our three business areas in Sweden, our Nordic business focus and our employees in Sweden during the transformation journey that is being undertaken,” continues Annemarie Gardshol.
“I look forward to continuing the important transformation journey that Sweden is undertaking and to contributing to the work on the Nordic strategy. PostNord is one of Sweden’s largest employer and I am honored to take over the role of CEO in a situation with both challenges and great opportunities. With its strong customer focus PostNord has all the prerequisites in place to succeed with its plan for profitable growth,” says Peter Gisel-Ekdahl.
Ylva Ekborn, who has been acting CEO of PostNord Sweden for the past six months, will now return to her regular position as Head of PostNord Accelerate, which includes PostNord Strålfors and PostNord TPL.
Peter Gisel-Ekdahl was born in 1970 and holds qualifications from the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology and Copenhagen Business School. Peter will take over as CEO of PostNord Sweden on June 3 and will also be a member of Group Leadership Team.
