Epica Awards 2012 started the entry period, scheduled to end on October 1st

Epica Awards 2012 announced the start of entry period, also announcing receiving worldwide entries. Epica Awards, created in 1987, celebrated their 25th anniversary last year and, after  initially focusing on Europe only, it started to progressively extended the geographic coverage and becomes a global event this year.

Epica’s aim is to reward creativity and help communication agencies, film production companies, media consultancies, photographers and design studios to develop their reputations beyond their national borders.

With 48 categories, Epica covers all types of communication: TV, Press, Poster, Radio, Business-to-Business, Corporate Image, Medical, Direct Marketing, Media Innovation, Branded Content, PR, Promotions, Craft, Design, Packaging, Interactive and Integrated Campaigns. At this year’s competition, there were also added 3 new Film Craft categories, while Interactive categories were extended to cover different products and services.

Entry fees are Euro 200 per campaign, Euro 280 for each individual entries, while the entry fee for Integrated Campaigns is Euro 500.

The Epica awards are judged by journalists from 41 specialist trade press titles and dedicated websites, with 34 countries to be represented on the jury this year, no Romania but, for the first time, Canada, India, Singapore, China, Australia and the Philippines. According to organizers, this jury guarantees objectivity and widespread coverage of the results.

All the winners and a selection of other high-scoring entries are published in the 400-page Epica yearbook which is distributed worldwide and all entrants will receive a free copy of the 2012 annual when it comes out next year.

Complete results of the 2012 awards will be announced in the press and confirmed on the Epica website during the last week of November.

The Epica awards ceremony and International Creative Conference will again take place in Ljubljana, at Cankarjev Dom Culture & Congress Centre on Friday, January 25th, 2013. The event will be hosted by Slovenia’s MM magazine.

The annual Epica ceremony has now been held in 19 different cities: Brussels, Amsterdam, Moscow, London, Zurich, Düsseldorf, Warsaw, Lisbon, Helsinki, Prague, Milan, Dublin, Budapest, Istanbul, Stockholm, Athens, Belgrade, Zagreb and Ljubljana.
