GfK Temax: Smartphones – responsible for telecom sales increase in Q3

The total value of mobiles & smartphones market in Romania for Q3 increased 12.3% compared to the same period in 2011, reaching to Euro 53M. Smartphones, available in a very rich range, most with Android OS, were responsible for the market increase

On the other hand, when it comes of printers and multi-functional, market value stayed close to Euro 7M, with a 5.1% increase compared to 2011. Most demanded during the analyzed period were “single function” printers (+9%). Laser equipment continues to have increased sales, while inkjet sales continue to drop.

When it comes of electronics, quarter’s total sales increased by 3.5%, to Euro 60M, with LCD TVs being most sold (Euro 50M).

Periferic  (keyboards and mouses) and tablets generated the highest sales on the IT sector, that generated Euro 96M for Q3. The steepest decrease in sales came from computer screens, followed by desktop computers and webcams.

In what concerns photo category, it followed an ascending trend during the first 2 quarters and ended abruptly in Q3.
