APA and Bank Austria launched the call for entries for Writing for CEE 2013

APA – Austria Press Agency and  Bank Austria organize the 10th edition of the competition “Writing for CEE”, dedicated to European journalists. The winner will receive an Euro 5,000 prize.

Journalists interested can submit, until July 31st, articles from printed and online press and transcripts of radio and TV reportages realized between August 1st 2012 – July 31st 2013. The materials must focus on subjects related to European life and people’s hopes, problems and desires, contributing to bringing nations closer and getting over prejudices. According to the organisers, journalists from non-EU countries such as Ukraine, Belarus or Russia are also invited to participate

To enter the competition, the materials must be submitted in the original language, along with a translation in English and a short CV of the author. The entry form is available here

When it comes of participation, the president of the jury invited “explicitly” all European journalists to participate. The winner will be designated by an international jury and will receive the award in November 2013, during a ceremony scheduled to take place in Vienna.
