GMP PR and Petrom Romania, awarded in US for the best corporate volunteering program
Petrom Romania and its agency, GMP PR, won the award for “The best volunteering program targeting employees” at the international competition PR Daily’s 2013 Corporate Social Responsibility Awards, organized by Lawrence Ragan Communications.
This year, over 150 project from 14 countries were entered into the competition, and Romania, along with US, Canada, China, Turkey and Oman, was among the winners.
Petrom’s winning project was “Volunteering championship”, a platform that offers to the employees concrete opportunities to get involved in the problems of the communities they live in, as volunteers or as initiators of local community developing programs. In 2013, the project was recognized at Romanian CSR Awards as “The best internal CSR campaign”.
Started in 2011, the competition saw involved, over time, over 2,000 Petrom employees, that dedicated their time and energy to causes like environment protection, supporting categories without fortune or identifying opportunities for community’s development.
Besides this distinction, Petrom was on shortlist in other 2 categories: “Best involvement of partners and employees” (with GMP PR) for Moinesti-Zemes mountain cycling competition and “Best community affairs” (with Graffiti PR) with “Andrei’s School”.
