Romanian Agerpres’ General Manager, elected member in BSANNA board
Alexandru Giboi, General Manager of Romanian national news agency Agerpres, was elected in unanimity as member in BSANNA (The Association of News Agencies in Black Sea’s Area) board. He was proposed as member of the board by Maxim Minchev, general manager of BTA.
Giboi replaces in the board the deputy general manager from Russian press agency TASS, Mikhail Gusman, that chose to withdraw from the position in the board. The elections took place during the 7th BSANNA General Assembly, taking place in Erevan (Armenia), on November 25th.
Alexandru Giboi will help us practically a lot, through his ideas and his work. A new breath is needed within BSANNA
Maxim Minchev.
During these times, marked by political and economical instability in Black Sea region, our organizations, ABNA-SE and BSANNA, need to assume an active role in protecting journalism and the journalists. It is my duty, as general secretary of ABNA-SE and member in BSANNA’s board, to work together with my collegues for the benefit of the member agencies, with the purpose of preserving the independence of journalism
Alexandru Giboi.
BSANNA was founded in May 2006 and has as members the national press agencies from the region: AzerTAc (Azerbaijan), ANA-MPA (Greece), Armenpress (Armenia), Anadolu (Turkey), ATA (Albania), BTA (Bulgaria), TASS (Russia), Moldpres (Moldova), AGERPRES (Romania), Tanjug (Serbia), MIA (Macedonia), HINA (Croatia), GHN (Georgia) and Ukrinform (Ukraine).
