Journalists and content producers from important international publications to come to #ICEEfest
The Huffington Post, The New York Times, Le Figaro, El Pais and VICE are just a few journalism and publishing giants to be represented at ICEEfest 2015, the biggest festival in CEE dedicated to the internet, scheduled to take place in Bucharest on June 11th – 12th.
On ICEE’s first day, during “Quality content in the digital age'” session, the speakers will be Koda Wang, COO The Huffington Post, and Jean-Christophe Demarta, VP Global Advertising The New York Times.
The Huffington Post, online aggregator and blog founded by Arianna Huffington in 2005, is considered the mot popular political website in US and is present in top 100 content websites globally. In 2011, Huffington Post was bought by AOL for $315M and, one year later, became the first 100% digital product in US who has in portfolio a Pulitzer prize. In August2014, Huffington Post had 115M unique visitors from all over the world, this being the first time when the milestone of 100M unique visitors was passed.
As COO Huffington Post, Koda Wang handles company’s global business. Previously, Wang was General Manager for international business at Huffington Post, helping to product’s expansion in 13 countries who generate half from the total audience of the website. At ICEEfest 2015, Koda Wang’s presentation focuses on “Becoming a global digital media company”.
Founded in 1851 and nicknamed “The Gray Lady” due to its conservative and impartial style, The New York Times got, during its history, 114 Pulitzer prizes and had, in September 2014, a print run of 1,38M copies a day, second biggest in US after The Wall Street Journal.
As VP Global Advertising The New York Times, Jean-Christophe Demarta oversees the international activities in newspaper’s portfolio.
Somehow at the opposite pole, Vice – Canadian magazine launched in ’90s which reinvents journalism for the generation of those born after 2000 – comes to ICEEfest to talk about how the internet changed fundamentally the way young people are consuming content, what subjects and controversies are preoccupying them and how the new journalism looks alike.
In the same time, those working in content sector (journalism, strategy, marketing, sales) and come to ICEEfest 2015 will be for sure interested also by ‘The champions of premium publishing” session, taking place during ICEE’s scond day. During this session, the speakers will be George Nimeh (Chief Digital Officer KURIER), Victor Arbalzar Gonzalez (Head of Digital Operations Prisa Noticias, publisher of El Pais or AS), Bertrand Gle (New Media Director Le Figaro) and Carsten Kritscher (Commercial Director VICE), while the approached themes will vary and include discussions over the challenges of transforming the traditional media.
Journalists and other participants interested by media can participate, at ICEEfest, to “The challenges of content producers” workshop, on June 11, and that will have Koda Wang, George Nimeh, Victor Arbalzar Gonzalez and Carsten Kritscher among participants.
