Yahoo.ro launched after 2 years of delay

Yahoo.ro was launched on Romanian internet on March 7th, 2 days before the date officially announced and after 2 years of delay due to the crisis and other different problems.

Yahoo Romania is available at the address http://ro.yahoo.com , the users having the possibility to access their e-mails also in Romanian

As info, Yahoo Romania includes sections such as News, Finances, Sports and Lifestyle.

Most news appearing on the Romanian portal on Monday were tabloid news. Most of the news aggregated by Yahoo Romania on its 1st day came from Mediafax Group & Apropo Media sites, Adevarul and Gsp.ro.

According to Hotnews.ro, Yahoo! chose to launch for Romania a light version of the portal, with no complex databases, as it has for other “more important countries”.

The same source mentions that, in Romania, there is a total of 7.94M Yahoo! accounts,  from which 4.8M people use the e-mail service and 5.8 are using the YM.
