Caroli Foods Group supports the Pitești local community with 500.000 RON
Caroli Foods Group, leader of meat packaged products in Romania with operations in Pitesti, reinforces its contribution to the local community and supports the professional athletes of the Argeș County swimming clubs by investing over 500.000 RON in the coverage of the 50-meter swimming pool inside the Costache Negri waterpark in Pitesti.
This investment is the direct result of a very good collaboration between the representatives of the company and the local authorities within the Pitești City Hall and the Sabiba Administration within SpepMP, but also sports organizations such as the Romanian Swimming and Modern Pentathlon Federation (FRNPM) and the Pitesti Municipal Sports Club. According to the commitment between all parties involved in the project, the financial support offered by Caroli Foods Group is intended exclusively to ensure the coverage of the swimming pool by mounting a pressure balloon, while the Sabiba administration within SpepMP, in collaboration with CSM Pitesti and with the total support which the Pitesti City Hall has dedicated to sports, will continue to ensure the necessary efforts to preserve the reputation generated by swimming in Argeș, since 1985, when the first generations of children trained in the Olympic pool in Pitesti, were moving towards great performances, some unmatched until now.
The installation of the presostatic balloon will be done starting with September, respecting the training program of the athletes, without bringing discontinuity in the development of their activities. The pool inside the Costache Negri waterpark in Pitești will thus be fully prepared for the cold season in October.
“Projects that really support the local community play a key role, both in attracting talent and in the overall performance of the business. After almost two years in which we have supported the community to overcome the health crisis, we are proud that we are also coming in support of performance. We are glad that we can help the athletes in the local swimming clubs, especially since among those who will benefit from this approach there are also children of our colleagues from Pitesti. Congratulations to the team that materialized this unique project!”, stated Roxana Manolescu – CEO al Caroli Foods.
“I am glad that we have completed, with the help of Caroli Foods Group, one of the most important projects for the city: 1,000 professional athletes from several clubs in Argeș affiliated to FRNPM, will be able to train in the cold season, in excellent conditions! Specifically, children and youngsters will train <<at home>>, in Pitești, they will no longer go to Mioveni, Curtea de Argeș or other places, for training. In the context of these pandemic times, respectively, the difficulties of 2020, corroborated with the closure for modernization of the Olympic Pool, our community from Pitesti suffered the loss of 2 generations of children, in the process of initiation, training and improvement, for performance! Therefore, I am very happy that our local swimmers, who have created a reputation for our municipality, can continue to grow champions! Thank you Caroli, our partner, for your involvement and support; it turns out that sport strengthens the community and makes lasting relationships!”, said Cristian Gentea, Mayor of Pitești Municipality.
This support thus allows, first of all, the continuity of the performance activity to ensure a permanent influx of members to the national junior team, but also in the development of the swimming activity of the approximately 1,000 training, advanced and master level swimming practitioners legitimated within the clubs from Pitești Municipality and Argeș County affiliated to the Romanian Swimming and Modern Pentathlon Federation (FRNPM).
“We always think about the future, and children are, for us, an investment in the future. We identified from the beginning not only the need, but also the necessity for a solution to support young talents considering the fact that the municipal Olympic Pool is undergoing modernization, and the estimated deadline would not ensure continuity in training athletes. Naturally, we responded positively to the needs of the local community of which we are part of also from a corporate social responsibility (CSR) perspective, this project being, in essence, another example of our involvement in the local civic life”, said Anamaria Băjan, Marketing Director at Caroli Foods Group.
For the good development of the swimming activity this summer, the open pool was used, since it is the only one of 50m length in the Argeș County, which offers the possibility of training according to the requirements of FRNPM. Preparing this pool for the cold season by placing the pressure balloon and the other related facilities, will ensure at the appropriate parameters the translation between the generations of swimmers.
