Bloomberg Media launches Bloomberg UK
Bloomberg Media launches Bloomberg UK, a new cross-platform editorial brand dedicated to digital-first business and financial news for modern British audiences. Led by a London newsroom of more than 500 journalists and analysts—one of the largest in Europe — the new offering builds upon Bloomberg News’ long tradition of unbiased, data-driven journalism.
Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg L.P. and Bloomberg Philanthropies, writes about why he is bullish on Britain and betting on its future in an op-ed to mark the launch of Bloomberg UK: “The investment we are making in Bloomberg UK reflects our optimism about the nation’s future and our commitment to supporting its economic growth and strengthening its civic traditions. By creating good jobs in British journalism and providing the news and information decision-makers need, we will do our part to help the UK remain a force in the world for stability, prosperity and democracy.”

“From the moment I came here seven years ago, I have been aware of Bloomberg’s huge potential for British consumers who are interested in serious, impartial journalism,” said Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait on the launch of Bloomberg UK. “Our goal is to become the main destination for business and financial news in Britain. As you would expect, we will have plenty of coverage of the financial world – but we are also widening our lens beyond the City to chart the future of British business in all its forms, telling the story of the new industries and startups that are reshaping post-Brexit Britain as well as the big beasts of the FTSE100.”
“Our strong editorial and commercial presence in the UK, proven success reaching its audience and experience working across every global market are key drivers of this expanded investment,” said Bloomberg Media CEO M. Scott Havens. “Each month, we serve more than 100 million modern business leaders worldwide with our unrivaled global coverage, and now we see the opportunity to provide a disruptive modern, multi-platform business resource for UK executives and the brands who want to reach them.”
