U.S. online display advertising market – 1.1 Trillion Impressions in Q1
U.S. online display advertising market delivered almost 1.1 trillion impressions in the first 3 months of the year, with Facebook.com accounting for around a third of it.
Facebook delivered 346 BN impressions, nearly double the number it delivered in the same period, last year. It delivered 31.2% market share, higher by 15% compared to Q1 2010. Yahoo! Sites occupied the 2nd place and Microsoft Sites were on the 3rd, followed by AOL.
The top US advertisers in Q1 by estimated share of online display ad spending were: AT&T, Experian, Scottrade, Toyota and Netflix, followed bt Intuit, Verizon, Progressive, Sprint Nextel and ING.
The top consumer goods advertisers ranked by display ad spending were Procter & Gamble, Mars, Kellogg’s, General Mills and Kraft Foods.
According to the report, 95 different advertisers delivered at least 1 billion display ad impressions, while 293 advertisers spent at least $1 million on display ads during the quarter.
