Grayling, appointed to provide PR and public affairs services for Nabuco in Europe

Grayling has been appointed by Nabucco Gas Pipeline International GmbH to provide public relations and public affairs services across Europe, including in Romania, according to a press release.

Grayling will assist Nabucco in the development phase of the pipeline and will have responsibility for international media relations, public affairs, local press and community relations. The six figure account was won by Grayling following a three-way pitch and covers activity in London, Brussels and the Nabucco transit countries (Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey) and Azerbaijan.

The Nabucco Pipeline is Europe’s flagship pipeline project in the southern corridor. The pipeline will connect the world’s richest gas regions – the Caspian region, Middle East and Egypt – to the Turkish and European consumer markets. Construction is due to start in 2011 with first gas flowing in 2014.

The account will be headed up by Grayling’s Chris Dobson, head of Central & Eastern Europe and Louise Ballard, MD Corporate.
